It is so important you make an effort and research the to make sure you have a good Understanding of the symptoms and effects of the disease are wide and many and do vary from patient to patient. No two Parkinson’s sufferers symptoms are the same. For this reason it is impossible to devise a treatment plan that fits all. Each case should be evaluated individually to determine how best to approach the most appropriate treatment required. All too often there is no structured treatment plan. All too often the Parkinson's Patient is put on a drug regime aimed at increasing the supply of dopamine with no backup support from other Health Care Professionals.
Initially the symptoms associated with Parkinson’s disease are fairly mild and focus on disturbances to the gait; i.e. walking difficulties. There may be a tremor in the arm and wrist and over time this can become quite severe. Stiffness and pain are common especially first thing in the morning. Memory loss is common and cognitive functions generally can suffer. Unfortunately over time symptoms get worse and eventually can result in the sufferer being wheelchair bound or even bedridden. Again the speed of degeneration varies from person to person and can be very rapid or spread over a number of years.
Treatments for the disease are very few. At the present time there is only one main approach to alleviating the symptoms and that is through drug therapy. There are various types of drugs but all seek to artificially replace the dopamine levels available to the brain. In this way the neuro pathways which enable movement are kept clear. In the early years of the disease the success of the drug treatment is quite high but over time the efficacy of the drugs falls markedly and results in so called downtimes in between dosages. Medical practitioners will gradually increase the level of medication and in time the levels can be alarmingly high. Eventually over many years the drugs can stop working altogether after which there is little treatment available and often patients have to go into a care home. My suggestions is to make sure you keep a positive outlook to life, because at times it can be very stressful living with the Dis-Ease. This is why I decided to develop this subliminal audio collection along with the book. It is a fact your subconscious mind absorbs 90% of your thoughts. Why the other 10% of your consciousness mind absorbs the rest. So, it makes perfect sense to let your subconscious mind re-program you without you having to really use any real effort.
The side effects of Parkinson's Disease drugs have at times been described as worse than the disease itself. The main one is nausea which can result in sufferers being violently sick. There are drugs to counteract these side effects but this of course simply increases the already disturbing number of drugs being taken regularly. Sufferers can also experience severe bouts of tiredness which unfortunately is already a common symptom of the disease.
Another disturbing side effect of the drugs is that of some patients experiencing hallucinations. This can lead to mental illness if left unnoticed and can place an enormous strain on marriages and relationships. It is also recognised that certain of the Parkinson's drugs can cause obsessions and compulsive behaviour in areas such as sex, gambling and pornography. This can often go unnoticed until a serious disaster occurs.
